Do the layers in your prints appear to be missing, flimsy or too thin like in the pictures below?
If yes, then your printer is likely under-extruding. If a printer is under-extruding, it means that the filament is not being pushed through the nozzle at the right speed or volume, which results in gaps and thin layers. There are a few potential troubleshooting solutions for this issue that you can try!
- First, please try another color if you have one available to ensure that it's not just a faulty roll. If you are using third party filament, try switching to Toybox brand printer food and see if that resolves the issue!
- If the issue persists with multiple colors of Toybox brand printer food, then we'll go ahead and tighten the extruder screws. For video instructions on how to take the extruder apart and access the screws, please click here. Please note: the video shows the steps for the model with a power button. The following written instructions include photos of the model with no power button.
Using a 2mm allen wrench, unscrew the two screws pictured below to take off the nozzle's cover. There is one screw on each side of the nozzle.

Once the cover is off, try tightening the two screws pictured below:

While you have the cover off, you can also try checking for a clog in the nozzle, as there could be some printer food that's stuck and preventing the full amount of filament from being extruded during printing. This article outlines the instructions to check for a clog: There is printer food clogged inside the nozzle
