What is cura and what happens if I choose not to use it?

Cura is what is known as a slicer. It takes your toy design and turns it into commands that your printer can understand. This will typically happen inside your browser and then it will beam the result up to our server. Beaming takes longer if you have a slower computer or are using an older phone.

Sometimes cura is not able to slice certain files. If you are having trouble slicing normally, we give you the option to use a cloud Slic3r (another slicer program) that lets our servers slice it for you.

There are a bunch of different options on these slicers, but we have found that showing them all can be unnecessary or overwhelming for most users. If you want to experiment with more settings, we encourage you to use a slicing program such as cura to slice it yourself!
