How do I set up my Toybox printer?

Before beginning the set up process, you will first want to download the Toybox app, or visit our webpage, where you'll be prompted to create an account. The app/webpage should take you through a step-by-step process with visual aids to get you set up, but we have written instructions here for you as well.

SETUP:

1. Plug in the printer and go into "settings" and then "WiFi" on your device (phone/computer/tablet). Make sure you're looking in the WiFi section and not the bluetooth section.

2. You'll see a list of networks available. Select the Toybox network.

If you're not seeing the Toybox network show up, please click here. If you're not able to connect to the Toybox network, please click here.

3. It will take you to a blue/green page with a list of networks. Select the WiFi you want to use for the printer and enter your WiFi password. This screen will close automatically and the printer should be connected to the network.

If you're not seeing a blue/green pop up, please try setup with a different device (phone, tablet, computer etc). If you're unable to find your home network on the list, please click here. If it's saying your password is incorrect when it is correct, please click here.

4. On the Toybox LCD, a 6 digit code will appear if the Toybox is connected to the internet.

5. Enter this code in your Toybox account under "My Toybox" and then "Add a printer." The printer should connect to the account after that.

6. Now that you're connected, it's time to insert your printer food! Press "Food" on the Toybox LCD to start. 

7. While it's heating up, attach the spool holder to the back of the printer and then put a roll of printer food onto the spool holder with the label facing out. Find the tip of the printer food and insert it into the top of the nozzle.

8. Press "Insert" on the Toybox LCD and push the filament into the printer head. You will likely need to press "Insert" a few times and apply some pressure to the printer food until you see the printer food coming out of the nozzle.

9. Although this step is not necessary, we highly recommend trying out a calibration test print first, just to make sure that the printer didn't fall out of calibration during shipping. You can click here to watch a video with calibration instructions, and to print your test print!

10. You are now ready to print! Head on over to our toy catalog or to the Creator Space to get started on your first print! Happy printing!
